为充分调动学生的英语学习热情，给学生提供更多展现自我的机会，胜利一中国际部近期举办了英文演讲比赛。经过激烈的海选及复赛，高一、高二共20名同学进入决赛。11月26日晚，决赛在一号楼学术报告厅成功举行。

本次赛题为”Success in your eyes”和”which is more important, work or talent?”二选一。在准备过程中，外教及英语老师帮助学生对演讲稿充分打磨润色，并就演讲技巧和舞台风采等进行全方位的指导。决赛过程中，六名评委从英语语言组织能力、口语水平、肢体语言表达和观众感染力等方面对参赛选手进行客观、公正的评分，最终李贺思琪、陈瑞天以及张泺源三位同学脱颖而出，荣获一等奖，刘浩萱等六名同学获得二等奖，刘皓月等11名同学获得三等奖。通过本次活动，促进了学生的英文写作水平及口语水平的提升，同学们也收获了宝贵的公众演讲经验。

In order to arouse the students’ interest in learning English and provide more chances for the students to show themselves, the International Department of Shengli No. 1 Middle School held an English Speech Contest recently. After two rounds of intense selection process, 20 students from the 10th and 11th grades participated in the final competition. In the evening of November 26th, 2018, the English Speech Contest Final drew to a close in the No.1 Building Academic Reporting Hall.

The topics for this speech contest are “Success in your eyes” and “Which is more important, hard work or talent?”. And the participants need to choose one from the two. In the preparation for this contest, the foreign teachers and English teachers polished the students’ manuscripts and gave them instructions in terms of public speaking skills and stage performance. In the final contest, six judges objectively graded their performance from several aspects such as English language organization ability, oral English level, nonverbal effectiveness and audience adaptation. Finally, three students, Li Hesiqi, Chen Ruitian and Zhang Luoyuan, stood out from the contest and were awarded the First Prize. Six students, Liu Haoxuan, for example, were awarded the Second Prize. Eleven students, Liu Haoyue, for example, were awarded the Third Prize. By participating in this contest, the students’ writing skills and speaking skills were largely improved and they also gained valuable experience of public speaking.
