What can 1 kWh of electricity do?

1 kWh of electricity can run a 66-watt refrigerator for 15 hours and fresh ingredients are always available. 1 kWh of electricity can enable your electric bike to run for 80 kilometers. 1 kWh of electricity can power the vacuum cleaner to clean a 100-square-meter room five times.

What can 1 liter of water do?

1 liter of water can fill five cups of water. 1 liter of water can make a person in the earthquake-stricken area survive for 2 days. 1 liter of water can mop 30 square meters of floor.

At present, the main source of electricity in China is thermal power. Thermal power mainly uses coal and petroleum as raw materials which are formed through countless years in nature and cannot be restored or regenerated

The world's freshwater resources account for only 2.5% of the total water on Earth and what humans can truly utilize only account for 0.26%. Currently, more than 1 billion people in the world are short of water and experts predict that the number will exceed 2.5 billion by 2025.

At the theme class meeting, our teacher called on us to start saving resources from our daily lives!

So what can we do to save water?

Try to reuse water. When we finish washing the clothes, we can use the water to clean the floor or rush the toilet.

If we see the dripping tap, we ought to fix the tap as soon as possible.

When we wash our hands, we could turn the tap off for the moment we put soap on our hands.

If we do not save water, the last drop of water will be a teardrop. To conserve water is to protect our lives.

How about saving the electricity?

Do not turn on the lights in our classroom when it's bright enough. Turn off the lights when everyone's out of the classroom.

Do not set the temperature of an air-conditioner too high or too low. Turn it off when we leave the room.

Turn off the computer screen when it's sleeping and turn off the electronic screen in the classroom when the class is over.

"Actions speak louder than words", please join us in the action to save water and electricity. Let it start from us and from the present.
